Catch Up

Just a random post, trying to catch up on picture and video sharing. . . We've had a pretty rough week with Wyatt being sick, so we're just hanging in there. Clayton and Reese still have a cough but are feeling better. Wyatt is finally on the mend I think.  His ear infection really lingered, and I think we got another cold of some sort on top of the one that caused the ear infection, plus some teeth on the top row are emerging as well. Even my boy for day care, Harvey, only made it here on Tuesday of this week, and he got picked up early after his nap because had a fever (and so did Wyatt). Wyatt made a trip back to the Dr on Wednesday morning and ended up getting his antibiotics extended a week and a steroid to help get over whatever is going on. I've never had a kid not get better on antibiotics before let alone spike a fever on them!
Here's Wyatt snuggling with Mommy and Scout yesterday!

Well let's see, we've been up to all kinds of things this month. . .

We all were randomly wearing superman shirts so I tried to take a pic. . I think I need a selfie stick to make this work! (1/4/16)

This is picture below is back from Jan 10, this must have been the next day or two after it happened, but Clayton went a little wild (big surprise) at Grandma's house one evening and when she tried to grab him,  he lunged away and split his eyebrow open on the edge of the coffee table. Good thing nurse grandma has some steri-strips on hand or we might have needed to go in for a stitch or two! It left him with a little bit of a black eye, but by now it's healed up nicely, and I don't think it will even leave a permanent scar. It was just right at the top of his eyebrow line.

A couple more quick videos of Wyatt from Jan. 20 and 22

So tired, Clayton feel asleep watching TV one afternoon 1/22/19

On Saturday (Jan 23) Mommy took all three boys to Lincoln to help Aunt Amy celebrate her birthday! Daddy was having a wrestling meet in Aurora that day (a meet we would normally try to go to, but that just didn't work out this year). So we took this picture to show our support before we left!

They weren't really into it, but we tried to make a little video too. I think Wyatt probably just wanted to take a nap. haha.

Then here was Wyatt at Grandma's house, trying Verenika for the first time at Amy's birthday dinner

Then on Sunday (Jan 24) after church and Sunday School, Daddy and Papa, took Clayton and Reese to watch a Husker wrestling match. Apparently they also each got huge boxes of M&Ms!

Christmas Day

The rest of Christmas Day was spent with Grandpa Mark and Grandma Dianne and Aunt Amy! We simplified Christmas this year and instead of a lot of presents (the kids each got one toy to open) we are planning a family (all of us!) trip to the Great Wolf Lodge during Spring Break in March. It should be a fun time! (It's a big indoor water park). It made for a more enjoyable and less stressful family time, and we still have something great to look forward to!

Here's a slideshow video of the day:

And the best part . . . SLEDDING!

Christmas Morning

Better late than never, right??

We opened presents as a family of 5 on Christmas morning (but forgot about the stockings! oops!) and the boys got to play with their new Polar Express train for the first time. I'm so glad we were able to scrounge up enough C batteries for it to run! Clayton and Reese got some farm equipment which they love to play with in their room and some superhero action figures. They weren't too impressed at the time, but they enjoy them all now.

Wyatt got a big box of duplos that he loves to throw around! And his brothers like to build with them, I know he'll get there someday! He also got the colorful and soft caterpillar that he loves!

Even Lacey got a new toy!

This was my favorite part of the day, seeing them enjoy their new toys and each others' company!

New stockings this year with their names embroidered on them. I don't know how I would could have forgotten! But when we did get to them Santa gave Nerf guns to Clayton, Reese and Daddy. How fun!

Here was Wyatt playing with the Polar Express bell. I thought it was sweet.

Several Videos of Wyatt

Ok, I've got some good video material of Wyatt, I know it's a lot and they're long, but he is at such a fun and cute age!

So last night I really noticed him being very interested in the book we were reading about puppies and kittens, to the point that I actually read it three times right in a row. I know that he was trying to say kitty and he was really practicing with that "k" sound. I caught a little video of him trying to say it while he was eating supper tonight - the cat had distracted him! It's hard to hear. . .

This morning he and Harvey were jamming out with the robot that plays music (it was a Christmas present for Reese, and it is supposed to dance too but it never did work right). I love that he stops to do squats when I remind him to dance! Also, he has mastered the "toddler squat." He can squat down to pick up a toy and stand back up and continue on!

This last one is from Saturday when Grandpa Mark and Grandma Dianne were here. Grandma was dragging the stuffed caterpillar around the room and he would chase after it. He loves his soft stuffed animals soooo much!

Edgerton Exporit Center

A kid's science center was a way awesome way to spend our Saturday afternoon yesterday. Grandpa Mark and Grandma Dianne came to hang out with us for the day so that mommy could go to the eye dr. in the morning and then we all went to the Edgerton Exporit Center together in Aurora. We had never been there and everyone had a ton of fun (although I admit all the flashy lights were a little rough on mommy's dilated eyes! Ick.). We brought the stroller along for Wyatt, not knowing what to expect, but I bet he would have been OK with out it. As long as someone was willing to sit with him and make sure he wasn't going to fall off the raised mats around the Bubble Tubes, I think he would have hung out there all day! He really liked it for the mirrors. What a fun, well made exhibit!

Clayton and Reese had fun too and could have happily stayed even longer to play. I'm sure we didn't even explore or fully explore everything there was to do!

Th hurricane simulator:

Some other fun things that I did not get any footage or pictures of was a video game system that projected on the floor that kids were able to interact with by running around and stomping on popcorn for example. It rotated through lots of different types of games - one you had to stomp the predators to keep some eggs safe in a nest. It's just a fun way to get the kids moving around. Also, I think Grandpa Mark's favorite was a flight simulator that you could sit in a special chair that gave you the movement and sensation of flying as you controlled a plane with a joy stick and watched the horizon with 3 computer screens

Shadows of Wyatt and Reese from a strobe light flash against a special wall that slowly releases the light, so the shadows take a long time to fade away

Oh, more of the Bubble Tubes, because Wyatt LOVED them (can I get a set?? haha)

The bubbles could be turned off, and the colors changed

Wrestling!

Clayton and Reese have started up with Little Kids Wrestling practice this month, they go two times a week on Monday and Thursdays. They both love it and are very excited. Clayton has said many times that he wants to be a great wrestler, and we've gotten him to eat lots of good foods by reminding him that it will help him grow big and strong to be the best wrestler he can be. (Plus they sleep so good those nights!)

Here they are practicing in the living room!

11 Months Old!

Wyatt Daniel is 11 months old today. I have been working on the invitations for his Birthday Party! It doesn't seem like that should be happening already, yet here we are! He is making sounds that are dangerously close to words. I swear he said "cheese" last week when I was holding my phone for something, I guess he thought he was getting his picture taken! He still says "no" (more like Nah) when he gets into trouble, and loves to growl and try to roar like a lion when he sees his animal wall decoration (for Clayton, it was always the monkey sounds, but Wyatt prefers the lion I guess). I think I might hear a word for Kitty trying to emerge as well. I guess one day he'll just have a language explosion, I can hardly wait to hear his talking voice! Our little guy is walking pretty well now, all the way across the living room and partially into the kitchen a lot. I can also tell that he is thinking about just standing up on his own (with out pulling up on an object) but he hasn't figured out how that could work yet, but you can tell he tries! He still likes to eat just about anything and everything I put in front of him, and I did feel a little sad as I fed him the last jar of baby food the other day. We still have some baby food pouches, but he can suck that out. Spoon feeding is pretty much over! He is growing though and I got him measured at 29.25 inches long and 19 lbs today!

Pics from Thursday

I just need to make a post! Here's some of what the boys were up to the other day!
Wyatt just loves his soft stuffed animals!

The boys have been enjoying playing with their Polar Express train in the afternoon when it's baby  nap time!
