Lost in Fun

Lost in Fun is an indoor playground in Lincoln, and the boys and I went there today (it was our plan for last week Thursday but it snowed at just the wrong time so we couldn't make it) and it was a BLAST the boys loved it and I will for sure be back. There is just so much to do, climb and bounce on, they could never get bored. Several wooden playsets with slides a (small) ball bit which was Reese's favorite, many many bounce houses, even a "Space Pit" room which was lit with black lights and included a huge foam pit!

Here they are climbing up to go down the slide inside a huge bounce house.

And coming down!

In the Foam Space Pit.. . . Since it's a black light room, the flash didn't work! haha

They slept in the car and are now taking more naps now that we are home!

Ring Around the Rosie - Branz Brother Style!

From Saturday afternoon. . .

And then I'm not sure why this is a thing, but apparently it's what you do when you are 2 or 3 and you have just finished playing Ring Around the Rosie!

Last Weekend AND Today

Last weekend we spent some time in Lincoln with Grandma Dianne and Grandpa Mark. On Saturday morning we went the the Lincoln Children's Museum. Grandpa had never been before and I think he thought it was pretty neat! I had forgotten about these picture on my phone!

1st stop, the tractor... I seem to remember that was the last thing Clayton had
wanted to keep doing the last time we there.... I do believe he had remembered!
They always have face painting stations out and I gave Clayton some whiskers so he could be a lion (and he did enjoy roaring at people! lol) And Reese is just a wiggle worm, and two blue lines is all Grandpa got on his forehead, hahaha.

Enjoying the water area... Unfortunately a new addition to all that running water is a lot of that colored gravel that you can have in fish aquariums! Eeek!

Also taken w/ my phone camera, today is the boys doing their new favorite outside activity. Digging in the dirt along the side of the house! Then when they have a load they take it to my big flower pot on the drive way and dump it in. They did that for about 45 minutes this afternoon until their little fingers got too cold.

Painting!

The boys got a two-sided chalk board easel and some paint from Grandma Dianne as a Valentine's Day present and while they have colored on it with chalk, Mommy hasn't been brave enough to secure some paper to it for a painting project - until today. My plan for the day was snowed out, so I bucked up and pulled out the paints instead. I think they enjoyed it a lot!

I started them off w/ one color each since I wasn't sure how it would go... Clayton picked red, and blue for Reese.

They seemed to be doing well, so I added some green and yellow for Clayton. And some red and green for Reese.

No pictures, please - I'm not finished
They did two pictures each. Clayton's both looked really similar, mostly making up and down lines with the red paint. Reese's are each different though. He choose black for the second piece of paper and made circles instead of lines. What adorable little artists!
Sorry Reese... I know you didn't want you picture taken, but... we just gotta!

He was sure happy to be so dirty though!!

Warmer February Fun!

The boys had so much fun playing outside yesterday! I know it's just a little break in the winter weather that has been keeping us cooped up.. but I can hardly wait for spring!!!

Little Snowman

Last Thursday, the 13th we were finally able to make a snowman out of some mostly melty snow.

Reese was apparently not impressed!

I took the boys to JCPenny's again for some 2-year old pictures of Reese. Here is the link to view the whole album:

Snow Day

Yesterday was also a snow day! (What an awesome birthday present for a two year old, to have his daddy home from work!) It was also VERY cold. Too told to go outside really, but after naps, we were just too bored. I thought since the sun was out, we would bundle up and see how long we could handle the snow. Not very long... maybe 5 minutes before Clayton started shivering and Reese wanted to "go warm up."

They had fun though I think, especially since the top layer of snow was hard, sometimes they would break through and fall in to the fluffier stuff. It was interesting for them!

So happy to be bulldozing and excavating in the snow!

Happy Birthday Reese!

Reese is TWO, I can hardly believe it, but at the same time he has acted like he's two for a while now, thanks to his big brother to show him the ropes. It's crazy how much he knows... all the colors and shapes and a few letters (or at least he knows that they are letters even if he doesn't know which one).  He can speak in full sentences, and not just repeating either, he comes up with his own things to say to tell us what he wants or if he is hurt, etc. He is also very polite; always says "thank you, mommy" when I hand him a toy or food. He can jump with both feet off the ground very well and can go up and down stairs well, usually with no assistance. He can imitate the sound of any vehicle perfectly (from the revs of a race car on TV to the puff of exhaust a bus or semi-truck would make). Reese is also still my cuddler and usually joins Mommy and Daddy in bed at some point during the night to snuggle and he isn't too shy to ask me for a hug or a kiss. I just love this little guy to pieces!

Pictures from his birthday party on Saturday:

The cool "ticket" invites

Overcome with emotion as we begin singing "Happy Birthday" to him

so shy!

I'm TWO (but holding 3 fingers b/c that is what Clayton does!)
The morning after the party... putting together the new Cozy Coup (with a trailer!) with Daddy!

Daddy appreciated all the help, I'm sure
Got his feet stuck in the steering wheel, hahaha

From TODAY his birthday!

Grandpa Mark and Grandma Dianne came for supper and cake since they weren't able to make the party on Saturday.

Trying hard to blow out the candles on the leftover birthday cupcake cake!
Enjoying opening the present alone, at his own pace
(we left Clayton in his booster seat eating cake)
A castle! With a knight that can ride the horse, a treasure chest, and the best part, a little boulder and catapult. Both boys have already really enjoyed playing with it!
