More from camping. . .

I posted that camping post too soon I guess. I found some video I took that I thought wasn't recording when the boys were playing the hammock (the best part I thought) and my mom sent me some pictures that were on her phone. So here's some extra material from camping last weekend!

Wyatt cuddling with Aunt Amy Saturday morning

Grandma and the boys played a few rounds of Hi Ho Cherry-O

Such a useful rug!
And the boys being launched on the hammock!

Yorkfest Parade

It was already two weeks ago, whoops, but here are a few pictures I took when we were at the Yorkfest Parade on Saturday, Sept 12th. Clayton said that his favorite part of the parade was the fire trucks and Reese really enjoyed the marching bands, specifically the trumpets he said. They both thought the race cars and the candy that was tossed to them were fun. Even Wyatt was very excited at the start of the parade despite it being nap time, but he did eventually fall asleep.

Excited as the parade starts!

Getting sleepy . . .

And finally out.

Trip to the Farm

Clayton and Reese helped Papa get the combine back to the farm yesterday (they had helped him take it in to be fixed a couple of months ago too). It takes about an hour to drive it there from in town. They spent the rest of the morning exploring the farm and picking pumpkins!

Loaded up, ready to go in Grandma's car!

Up in the combine

They picked a lot of pumpkins with Grandma

And climbed into the hayloft of the old barn with papa

September Camping Trip

For the weekend of Sept. 18-20 we went camping one last time of the "summer" with Grandpa Mark, Grandma Dianne and Aunt Amy. We went to Conestoga again (same place we went with them in June) because all of Pawnee's campsites with electrical hook ups were full. We were a little surprised, but it was beautiful camping weather. A little chilly at night (which is good for sleeping!) and nice and sunny during the day.

UPDATE! I have more - check out this additional post for the rest of the pics and videos from this trip http://branzboys.blogspot.com/2015/09/more-from-camping.html

Here are the boys walking with Aunt Amy by the lake. The last time we were there this whole entire area (and half the parking lot even higher up) was underwater. Reese was disappointed that the worms were gone. In fact, we went for this walk/bike ride because he had asked to go see the worms! They were happy to throw rocks in the water instead.

Wyatt getting tickles from Grandpa Mark in the camper

And rubbing noses with Grandma Dianne

Clayton being a "blanket" and Reese being a "pillow" on the hammock
If you listen to my mom in this video she is explaining how we gave the hammock to my dad for his birthday the summer I was three, and how I tried to keep it a secret! I have many childhood memories rough housing on this hammock with my sister and friends when we were camping too!

Clayton and Wyatt were kind of basket cases most of the weekend - so here's Clayton with a basket

All three boys playing together but separate on an old living room rug that is now a camping necessity!

And then of course on Saturday night, we did the BEST part of camping (according to Clayton) and made S'mores in the coals of the fire.

Hot Wheels Track

We finally opened up the last Christmas present yet to be played with and set up Clayton's Hot Wheels tack a week and a half ago (the day he was home sick with pink eye, actually). It was a big hit!!

Also, only slightly unrelated, we do sometimes let the boys play with the Crazy Sand that they got for Christmas from Grandpa Mark and Grandma Dianne. Crazy Sand is kind of like PlayDoh, but with more mess, haha. (From Sept. 3rd)

Using the phone

Wyatt had some important phone calls today!!

The Slip 'n Slide!

I finally got a little movie made of our second version of the slip 'n slide at Grandpa Mark and Grandma Dianne's place. This was from August 29.

7 Months & Pink Eye

Wyatt turned 7 months on the 10th of course, but I didn't get his picture taken on time because he wanted to be just like Clayton. . .He woke up with pink eye like Clayton had the day before, AND because Clayton woke up with pink eye on his 7 month birthday too, it's the strangest thing. (You can read the blog post I made that day from that link. Good think I keep the blog!)

The deal with Clayton's eye, is that on Wednesday, shortly before lunch, he suddenly developed pink eye! His eye was very painful, and there was gunk and crusties come out of it, and he was in a lot of pain. I tried to help him by using a wet washcloth to help get it out (since he said he hurt so bad) but after pulling a dozen or more chunks out over the course of a an hour or so, (and he wasn't too cooperative by then anymore) I just let him sit with a cold wash cloth over his eye and tried to have him eat lunch., but he couldn't. He wouldn't even drink his milk. He just sat there, washcloth over one eye, other eye closed, and clearly in pain. He almost fell over in his chair, so I carried him to bed and he took a good long nap. When he got up I had Daddy take him in to the Dr. and get some eye drops. He had to stay home Thursday morning from school, because as you can see from the pictures above his eyes were still really swollen. He actually had an abrasion under his left eye from him rubbing so hard on it when it hurt! :(

Wyatt is doing much better after 24+ hours of eye drops! He weighed just under 17 lbs when he was weighed at the clinic. Here are the pictures I took Friday with his official 7 month sticker.

There is almost nothing in this world that makes this little boy happier than watching his brothers play outside. He loves it!

And a fun video taken throughout the day!

The "bad guys" got Reese

Last Friday afternoon, I look out the window to see Reese laying down in the driveway. Assuming he'd gotten hurt I went out to check on him . . .

Mommy: "Reese, what happened?"
Reese: "Somebody shot me. A bad guy shot me." (notice the water gun laying just out of his reach)
Mommy: "Oh. Are you dead now?"
Reese: "No!"  and gets up with an evil laugh

The rest of his childhood should be..... interesting.

First Football Games!

Last night we went to the first York Dukes home football game. They won - Go Dukes!
The Dukes were about to score, so I had to grab a quick picture of the boys with their balloons before they let them go!

Wyatt (more interested in an empty pop bottle) made it through to the first Duke touchdown before it was time to go home to go to bed.

Then today, Daddy took Clayton to his first Husker Football game at Memorial Stadium! It was a disappointing loss, but they had left at half time and were actually already home by then.
Ready to leave for the game.

Reese was a little sad that he didn't get to go with. Poor thing.

Wyatt was upset that I put a hat on him. It was a tragedy of epic proportions.

But the hat is so cute, Wyatt!

He got it off. All better!

Reese and Wyatt sort of playing together this afternoon

Park Pictures

So these are getting oldish, (early August) but I keep forgetting about them. Remember when we went to the park on the 4th of July and I took some pictures of the boys in the tree? Well, now every time we go to that park, before we can leave the boys make me take pictures of them in that tree...

A Nice one!

Reese is such a monkey!
