Clayton's Backyard Adventure!

We ended a fun filled day today by letting Clayton explore the backyard. Earlier we spent our time having a family trip to WalMart and eating dinner at Chances R where Clayton had a new "first" - we ordered him his own spaghetti off of the kids menu! We already knew that he liked and could eat it on his own and you could tell that he felt so proud to have his own food at the restaurant. He spent his time gnawing on garlic toast and trying to stuff slippery noodles into his mouth. I'm sure the wait staff was cursing us while they were cleaning the floor and white table cloth, but. . . oh well!
That last part with the cats - I only wish we would have had the camera on later when he had a hold of Lacey's leash! He actually jerked Clayton down, flat on his back! Surprisingly he didn't cry about it, but if we would have had it on, that could have been our thousand dollars from America's Funniest Home Videos for sure!! (The cats are on leashes because we aren't sure if they would know where "home" since we are in an unfamiliar place).

Great Day!

Clayton and I had a fun filled day today! He has been very crabby lately, which I attribute to a combination of teething and not being at "home"(even though this is home for the next few weeks, you can't exactly explain that to a 10.5 month old!)

Anyway, we went to the park after lunch and he just loved to be outside! When I put him in the swing he was smiling and giggly, and it was like he wanted to tell me "finally mom, you figured it out, I just wanted to swing!"

He also really enjoyed the train that went by behind the park, and kept cranking around to look at it as it tooted it's horn and chugged on by!

Then, after his afternoon nap, we walked the 1 block (if you don't count the trek through the parking lot) to the middle school to visit daddy in his classroom. Clayton thought that was a blast and enjoyed exploring the new environment. He was also very fascinated by watching his dad ride his bike along side us as we walked back home.

Daddy says "oh don't get that book, it's worth $100!"

Dance, Clayton and Don't Stop 'til you Get Enough!

We'll, we are all in York and a happy family, together again! Clayton and I moved in with Darrel's parents (where he has been living all summer) TODAY! Clayton had a rough time getting to sleep tonight, so hopefully he will adjust to his new surroundings soon. We had to return our internet equipment to Charter Communications on Friday so we haven't had the internet to post on the blog!

Clayton has been so good while we were packing and getting ready to go this weekend. With no TV or Internet, we resorted to good old fashioned entertainment - the radio. It seems like we have a little Micheal Jackson fan on our hands. . .

First Little Tooth

I noticed yesterday a little white spot in Clayton's mouth! He is finally going to get a tooth! It is on his lower left side. I tried to take a picture, but he freaked out every time I tried to even look in his mouth. Nor more toothless baby! : )

The Front Door

Clayton loves to look out the front door in the morning when it's cool enough to have it open.

He also loves to smile for the camera!!

Hey wait, what is that on the other side of the door??

It looks cute and fluffy!

It's a kitty!

And she's curious about Clayton, too!! : )

Future Electrician?

These pictures are from the family reunion in Beatrice last weekend. We were in my grandparents hotel room after we were done swimming, and Clayton was very interested in the light fixture. I had a little hair gel in my bag so I used it to spike up his hair to make it look like he was getting shocked or something, ha ha.

A little baby faux hawk for good measure!

Little Fishy

There was a family reunion for my mom's side of the family this weekend in Beatrice. To beat the heat on Saturday afternoon we took Clayton back to the hotel my grandparents were staying at and let Clayton swim around!! My mom took tons of good video and now I have it all edited and mushed together. Enjoy! : )

Fire Hydrant

A few days ago, Clayton and I went outside to explore, and the fire hydrant was so fascinating! I couldn't drag him away from it (I actually  had to pick him up, he would NOT walk away) and he kept trying to get down and go back! Too cute!

We came up with a new way to play this morning! Use the chair to sit at the music table. Clayton really enjoyed it! : )

Tuna Noodle Casserole

Clayton tried "big people" food for the first time tonight! I ran some of the tuna noodle casserole I made for supper through the food grinder that I inherited from my grandma (they still make them the same way and you can buy a nearly identical one brand new). He ate it really well at first, but after about 6 or 7 bites he didn't want anything to do with it! I tried putting some on his tray to see if he would at least play with it, but he was done!

I did get a couple of bites in after that (in between some pears) but he just spit it out! Funny Baby! After talking it over with Darrel, he suggested that the casserole is probably a lot more filling and has more calories per bite than his baby food, so that is probably why he didn't seem to eat that much.
