Happy Halloween!

I can hardly believe this is Clayton's third time around! It's the first for Reese though. I took far too many pictures (as usual) so I will leave you with just two and work on some more for another post tomorrow!

Reading Together

Clayton loves this book he got for his birthday "Little Blue Truck." It is such a sweet little book too - complete with animal sounds, a big dump truck that gets stuck (one of Clayton's favorite words/concepts) and a lesson about being friendly and helping others.

A Peek in the Mirror

These pictures are from all the way back on October 6, the day we got our family pictures taken with my parents and sister in Lincoln. There was a windchill of about 25 degrees that day and they did NOT turn out at all. There is one good picture with the boys in it and that is all. Sad Day! Anyway, mom took some very cute pictures of Reese before we left

Giving his reflection some kisses

"Who is that handsome dude?"

"Let's be Friends!"

Be sure to click on this collage to make it bigger to see all the cuteness there!

And more recently, he's all ready for Halloween! I just hope it still fits him then! It's 6-9 month size and it's pretty snug.

Eatin' with Safety Goggles On

Slurpin' up some Spaghetti
Clayton was wearing these when it was time to eat and neither of us thought to take them off at first and he just dug right in. (The safety goggles came with the leaf blower he got from Aunt Betsy for his birthday). When we did try to take them off, he wouldn't have it, so on they stayed and really ate a lot for dinner!

Clayton and Daddy in the Leaves

I should have posted this last night, but Reese decided a little after 9:00 pm that it was time to be up and would not go back to sleep until a lot later, so I didn't get my evening computer time in! He is feeling a lot better and is back to eating normally but is still pretty clingy to me. This may be from coming off of being sick or it may just be the stage he is in because of his age!

Anyway, here are some cute pictures of Clayton and Daddy playing in some leaves on Wednesday night. I actually took these pictures through the front window:

Bed Head!

Reese has enough hair that he got a little bed head when he woke up from his nap today! He still had a fever this morning, so I did take him into the doctor since I felt like he was nursing less and less. Of course by the time we got there at 2 pm there was no fever, but at least I know the doctor listened to his lungs and checked his ears and that is all fine. It is probably just a virus and it's run it's course now. The doctor could see that he had some sinus drainage in the back of his throat, so that's probably a little sore. He is still acting very clingy and crabby - some of it may be because he is so out of routine right now because of all of this. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better, more normal day!
Cam you see that little wisp of sticking up hair?!
And here is the cheese ball big brother:

I forgot!

I forgot to put up this little video I made to play at Clayton's birthday party

Also, just as little update on Reese, he still had a fever this morning and has been extra cuddly and sleepy. I gave him some more Tylenol this morning that helped bring his temperature down to 99 degrees instead of 101, so that helps. He has still been nursing OK I think, and his diapers have been wet, so I'm not concerned enough to call the doctor at this point. Hopefully he will feel better real soon!

The Zoo!

My mom and sister Amy and I took both boys to the Lincoln Children's Zoo this morning. We went in May for the first time if you recall. Today was a beautiful morning - warm sunshine, no wind - it was great! The boys were sort of crabby from a late night and an early morning (Clayton woke up at 6am!) but did enjoy themselves. Reese was very interested in the Lemurs during their feeding time, and they were fun to watch. I think Clayton's favorites were the camels, one little monkey we saw and the flamingos. He also really enjoyed a little play area that included a large mountain of dirt. . .

This time we took some pictures in egg shells

We also went a train ride around the zoo this time. Both boys were very tired, but I think they still enjoyed it!

We could barely keep the boys awake in the car from the zoo to Village Inn for lunch! They were out by the time we made it back to my parent's house to load our luggage. They slept the whole way home!

This evening however, it was discovered that a abnormally crabby Reese had a low grade fever, about 101. Poor baby has never been sick before - so it was a lukewarm bath and a little Tylenol and then off to bed with him. Hopefully he will feel a little better tomorrow.

Birthday Party Pictures

We had a really fun party today for Clayton's 2nd birthday. Here some of the best pictures. There may, or may not, be a better, more organized post later.

More of the Birthday Boy

The afternoon before Clayton's birthday I made his cake and Clayton, when he saw I had the mixer out, pulled the kitchen chair right up to the counter to help (and snitch). . .
Peeking in the bowl, watching the beaters go

Getting a finger full of batter... help yourself, I guess!

Mmmm mm good!

Covered in chocolate cake batter!

And very happy about it!
Here is our Happy Birthday Song and blowing out the candles last night with Grandpa and Grandma
Here he is eating the cake!

And now (even though we opened presents before the cake) here are some present pictures:
A Big Wheel! (click on the picture to see it bigger)
Some "easy" assembly required

Clayton was more than willing to help!

Such a big boy!
Having fun at his little party!

And a monster truck to play with while he waited for the Big Wheel to get put together!

He's still not quite sure what to make of all the sounds it has, but I'm sure he'll come to love it
Mean while, this is what little Reese was up to

That was a lot of pictures and video, I hope you made it to the end!
