A Day at Preschool

So generally when we ask Clayton how was his day at preschool or what he did at preschool he says that he "played with blocks." Last week though he told us that Mrs. Nickel has big hands, Mrs. Meyers has big hands and Grandma (what they call an older lady that is an aide in the classroom) has big hands. But Clayton has little hands. Not sure what that is all about, I'd love to ask sometime.

Well today I got an amazing treat! Clayton was talking (to someone) on the play phone that came with their kitchen set. So I tired to listen nonchalantly. Luckily he went through the order several times in a row! He said "I went to preschool and I answered the question, then I washed my hands, then I ate breakfast, then I brushed my teeth, then I washed my hands again, then I washed the table. Then I went to the bathroom, then I went to criss-cross applesauce (Circle/Story Time), then I went outside and I played, then I went to criss-cross applesauce again, then I had a snack, and then I go home."

I checked the schedule of what we were given, and while there seems to be a few discrepancies, it's pretty close!

Clayton's preschool schedule
I love what preschool is doing for Clayton! He had "Show and Share" this week and he was to bring in an item from home that starts with the letter A. (Daddy and I actually had a hard time coming up with something, haha) We picked a toy Ambulance.

We even have some (non-mandatory) homework involving the letter A. (It's the letter of the week). There are dotted lines to trace to work on writing the letter and a work sheet to circle the letter A mixed in with a few other letters to work on recognition. I really enjoyed sitting down with him this morning to work on holding the pencil correctly and completing one of the work sheets.

And just because it's so sweet, Clayton and Reese looking at a book together a few days ago! (Normally they just beat each other up!) They took turns turning the pages and saying which car, motorcycle or boat they were going to ride.
