Tired Biker

Well, Clayton is a bike riding addict now - he wants to go all the time and we actually take him usually twice a day! Apparently it wears him out though as he as been sleeping great lately! Here he is just before nap time on Wednesday - too exhausted to watch even 5 minutes of his current favorite movie, The Sword in the Stone! Reese was enjoying the movie though and a little brother cuddle time!

Well Good Morning, Reese!

Tuesday morning I walked into the boys' room to find that Reese had striped off his PJs! Good thing he hadn't figured out the diaper. He was a little upset since he had thrown his binky and blankey out of the crib (it's a morning ritual to throw it out and then cry "uh oh")

Then last night Daddy snapped some pictures of Lacey and Clayton having a stare down. . . Clayton wanted the blanket the cat was laying on and has been bitten (well deserved, let me assure you) by him enough to try to get it from him cautiously. Mommy wasn't home at the time (went to my AquaZumba class for a workout) and Daddy said he was sad he couldn't get the camera out fast enough for when their faces were even closer to start with!!

Nap Time

Sorry for not posting. We are just so busy finally enjoying the nice weather!

Looks like Clayton may have fallen asleep trying to read books today for naps! When I opened the door to check on them a little bit ago I panicked a little to see Clayton's empty bed until I peeked around the corner to see him fast asleep in the Rocking Chair.

So while I was in there I snapped a picture of Reese sleeping in his crib too!
Just perfect. Both of them!

Reese had a sleepy lunch Today

I didn't think he was going to make it to his crib, but I did get him in there before he completely passed out!!

We did It!!

I don't know if this will be the new trend or if it was just a fluke, but Reese slept in his own bed all night (he woke up to nurse at 11:45, 3:30 and 5:15 - we'll have to work on that next). He never slept in Mommy and Daddy's bed - he let me lay him down in his crib in his and Clayton's room. I choose to lay him down in the pack'n'play in our room after the 5:15 wake up since I thought I heard Clayton stirring and I wasn't sure what Reese would do or when he would wake up and I didn't want to risk ruining Clayton's sleep (he has been a pretty good sleeper lately). Reese then slept through Darrel and I getting up to get ready for the day and finally woke up at 7:45 am! Perfect! When he got up he still seemed sleepy and cuddly - usually when he wakes up he is a smiling ball of energy, so that was different. But it was nice to cuddle with him on the couch for a few minutes. Apparently Chloe thought so too:

Big Boy Bed

Last night we changed Clayton's crib into a toddler/day bed. It converts by just removing the front piece. He climbs out of his crib so handily at this point I don't think it will make that big of a difference. We set it up with his brand new Lightning McQueen bed sheet sets (from Disney's movie Cars, one of his favs) last night which may have been a mistake to do it right before bed time because he was so excited about it. Even Reese was very excited! He did eventually go to sleep though, so we'll just keep seeing how it goes.

First, Clayton (and Reese I guess) "helped" daddy take the front piece off the crib.

Tired baby!

Reese fell asleep in the car on the way home from the store today, in the middle of playing it looks like. So cute!

On Thursday . . .

On Thursday morning Clayton did the one thing that I was sure he would never ever do! He actually just fell asleep on the floor!! He woke up at ten till 6 that morning (when I had to get up and feed Reese, I'm sure that disturbed him) and he did not go back to sleep. Later in the morning I tried putting the movie Tarzan in (instead of Cars) while I nursed Reese. I looked at Clayton and suddenly realized that he had actually fallen asleep around 10am. He slept there for about an hour. I guess it was a really boring movie!!

Random Pictures, and Injuries

I haven't had anything nearly as interesting as the Thanksgiving pictures or pulling the cat's tail to blog about lately, but we have had a few random things. . .

This is from last week sometime I think. I obviously tied the blanket around him as a cape, but he does put the colander on his head quite a bit. (I did it myself for a funny picture on this instance though)

Mom, you are so weird. . .

Here is a result of pulling the cats tail too hard. Believe it or not, those are bite marks. Lacey clamped down hard and when Clayton tried to rip his arm away the cat did not let go! This happened last night right before bed and Clayton was pretty upset. They never bled and we washed them really well with soap and water. He got bit almost as bad again today, so clearly pain is not a good teaching tool for this child. . . oi!
Kitty bites!
I took that picture this morning during breakfast, and of course he thought I just wanted a picture of his adorable face, so I indulged him. Pretty good one too!

Hmm, I need a hair cut!
Yesterday was quite eventful, actually. . . I should have taken a picture of this yesterday because it looks way better now (thankfully). Before his nap (so he was probably just tired and clumsy) he some how tripped while playing with his mower and sort of clothes-lined himself on the handle (Not sure how else to describe it). That red mark under his chin was probably 4 times longer after it happened and his mouth was bleeding (I'm guessing he bit his lip or tongue). I gave him some ice in a little mesh bag and that distracted him from the pain and he was just fine. I wonder how much harder he would have to fall like that for it to split his chin open and earn his first stitches?? At this rate they are not too far into the future.

Red mark on chin (not the one on his neck, that is a "birth mark")
My prediction for his next injury is something to do with climbing for sure. Likely culprit, the high chair. He can get into his high chair completely on his own. I really need to remember to push it up against the table so he can't, but when I forgot today, I'm so slow that by the time I got over to him, he had gotten all the way up and stood in the seat and then turned around and sat down, with one leg on either side of the "crotch bar" (because I don't know what else to call it), just like he is supposed to be!

And this is how daddy found us when he came home for lunch today. He was so tired and crabby! He got mad at me because I wasn't letting him throw all of his books (that I had just picked up) onto the floor, I was only letting have a few. Then he was up on my lap and kept saying "nigh nigh nigh." So I asked him if he was tired and wanted to go night night and he got down and ran into his room and grabbed the rails of his crib! I guess that is a "yes!" So I just got his blanket and we cuddled on the couch (it was almost lunch time so I didn't want to actually put him down for a nap).

Thanksgiving Day, Part 3

These are of quiet/story time or actually sleeping time!

Oh, I guess he doesn't like that book, sorry Grandma!

9 Months Old

Sorry, I haven't been very good about posting lately! : ( Clayton is hard to keep up with these days since he is all over the place now. It's so great that he loves to explore but it sure keeps mommy busy and hard pressed to find a moment to sit down at the computer!!
Hi, my name is Clayton and I am 9 months old today and I LOVE to play in this box!

Darrel and I took him for a walk in order to extend the amount of time he could be awake before his afternoon nap (if it's too early he gets so cranky before bedtime. . .). Unfortunately, he just fell asleep!

Cruisin' around on the furniture!
